WOW

This is seriously tempting me to update my ancient '07 module...

It does have a 70s, futuristic look about it.

Hey Dimitri,
nice gadget, but a touch too little personally for me.

The Megadrum-Manager works perfect for me, all is on my pc screen in a comfortable size.

Using the Quick Access feature I personally find it more comfortable and even quicker to dial settings straight into the module - and I don't even have rotary encoders. I find it quicker (and more reliable) than faffing around with a mouse, but maybe that's just me. I only use MD Manager for firmware updates and for the midi monitor, and if the latter moves to the module screen I think it's great.

I don't recall the last time I faffed around with the MD encoders.

I'll probably sound like an ass, but I don't think this is going to make a real difference.
If you want the MegaDrum and MDM to be more widely used, and market it a bit more commercially you defiantly need to focus on usability.

If you want to make MD better you really need to come up with something like a (touch) colour screen and implement something that let's people control it using a better and easier to understand UI. You should think about using icons and some sort of wizards to setup and improve the settings of the pads. (Same with MDM)

It is a great deal of work, which I totally understand, but that is going to be the main reason why people are hesitating for using MD and it's accompanying MD Manager. If you need a designer to come up with things like icons and UI mockups, than I would love to help.
Unfortunately I'm no good help when it comes to programming in Java (which IMO really needs to be rewriting in another language like C#, or even Swift).

As the title says, it is just an option and just as I expected some like it, some don't and some don't care. As you know, MegaDrum can be used without an LCD at all so ultimately it is up to a user to decide what LCD it prefers if any. Regardless, everyone will be a winner because while I was working on it I optimized quite a lot of code related to the main MegaDrum functionality and it will be included in one of the closest firmware releases.

Well that's good news. Does that screen require a special PCB or does it use the same header as the regular LCD?

It will work only on STM32F205 based full (not Lite) boards.
