Yamaha XP120SD Configuration

I have just bought a MegaDrum Lite module and am now struggling to configure it.

I have a Yamaha XP120SD snare drum. There is a sample configuration, from dmitri, that I followed almost to the letter. I reduced Gain to 7 to avoid a continuous stream of false trigger notes. But now instead of getting separate head, rim, and rimshot zones, wherever I hit the pad I get only the "Dampened Note". What am I missing?

This snapshot of MIDI Log is 2 hits on each of head, rim and zone 3 rim.

I'm not much help with these but have you got 'alt note choking' ticked? (misc panel in MDM)

I'm not sure why you raised Gain on the Head instead of lowering it if you had false triggering. Raising Gain you actually increase sensitivity.

You have to adjust Threshold on the Rim and the 3rd zone.
Set Threshold in 3rd zone to 0. Do you still get Note 40 (Dampened Note)?

I have now set zone 2 Threshold to 0 and it helped: I now get head hits and 3rd zone hits. No joy yet with rim clicks. The MIDI Log shows 2 head hits, two rim hits, two rim clicks (3rd zone).

You have to raise Threshold on the rim by 1 at a time until you start to get reliably Aftertouch On and Off messages when you press and release the rim switch.

That did the trick. Threshold of 13. Thank you very much!
