Hello
The idea is this:
- an aluminum disk of the size of the shell.
- a piezo 35 mm glued on the plate .
- a high density polyethylene foam sandwiched between the aluminum disc and the meshed skin.
What do you think ?

How thick is the aluminium (that's aluminium for any Americans reading) and what is the diameter of the foam?

3mm for aluminum disk and 7 or 8 mm for the foam (gym mats).
The foam would be the diameter of the shell (10, 12 , 14 and 16 inches)

yes, the second for rimshot , directly bound by the hardware.

if I understand , for positioning a single sensor in the center enough.
I tested the disc and foam to see the rebound , but I 'm afraid of the violence of the impact on the piezo placed directly below the foam. I think the solution is left can be better.
The positive is that the noise is very low.

abandoned project, it seems to work less well than my bars .
The only advantage was greatly reduced noise.

All credit for trying anyway.
