Double triggering and general newbie setup issues...

Postby hugh77 » Mon Nov 07, 2016 9:02 pm

Hi, I have set up the megadrum with my Roland triggers on acoustic drums using Logic X (Mac OSX) and am struggling to get the right settings. I'm getting double triggering and 'machine gun' triggering despite trying to use all of the tips on the site.
I have tried just tapping the triggers without striking the acoustic drums to and even then there is an issue with the double triggering.
I have attached some screen grabs to illustrate the problems. With the Logic midi page screen grab I was only hitting one drum at a time.
Any help would be greatly appreciated! Super keen to get going with the new toys.

Welcome,
Put the retrigger back down to about 12 and press 'send all'. I'm thinking the threshold is the problem as it is in red and therefore not in sync with MD.

Thanks but I've tried pulling the retrigger down and it only seems to have made the problem worse. I've attached the screen grab of another logic recording (kick, floor tom, mid tom, high tom then snare). When I record just tapping the triggers with my finger I still get the double triggering but no 'machine gun' effect. Any ideas?

Your MDM screenshots of settings don't correspond to what's being triggered in the MDM midi log - it looks like it's always notes 71, 72 and 77 being triggered. Sometimes you even have the note set to 0, which effectively disables that input, and the midi log shows notes 71 and 72. Are you sure the settings you're changing actually correspond to the pads you're hitting?
If it ain't broken... fix it until it is.
