can anyone shed light on why sometimes some drums start showing 0 as the midi note number in midi log on MDM? here is a screenshot of my hi hat closed bell showing 0 on MDM's midi log. despite it was working normally just a few hours ago and nothing was changed in any settings, the closed bell shows midi note 0 on midi log even though I have done multiple send all and have Superior Drummer relearn the note and the note is also programmed in MDM as 119 but it just shows 0 in the midi log.

You have to set all SemiOpen/HalfOpen/SemiClosed/Closed Notes to match notes for various HiHat positions if you don't use MIDI CC 04 for HiHat positions or set them equal to the Notes of the HiHat cymbal if you use MIDI CC 04 for HiHat positions. You should not set these Notes to 0 - Note 0 there doesn't mean they are disabled even though MDM (misleadingly) says so.

My goodness, where an earth are you making use of that custom curve?

What trigger needs a random velocity between 179 and 255, no matter how hard or soft you hit it? Just interested.

I use a continuously variable controller and I am using MIDI CC 04, I still have to assign the SemiOpen/HalfOpen/SemiClosed/Closed Notes? Hi hats were working fine with the configuration I screen shotted then just started producing that zero. I will assign all the SemiOpen/HalfOpen/SemiClosed/Closed Notes and see what happens.

was the first curve I experimented with. I am still unclear on what the curve parameters mean.

"And the curve of the year award goes to.........."

So along the bottom, P1 to P9 are how physically how hard you hit your drum. Going up the side are the outputted midi velocities.
So generally a linear curve (bottom left to upper right) most replicates normal playing. Low velocity, P1, would output a low midi velocity and P9 a hard hit and all stops in between.

And let me conclude by wishing you all a merry Christmas.
