The Megadrum LCD turns off after turning it on for 2 seconds

Everything else seems to be working, the MIDI signals are there, i am still setting it up to make it work smoothly, but for some reason the LCD now just turns off after 2 seconds of turning on.. any idea why?

When that happens press the 'up' button for a while to see if it's the contrast defaulting to 0. Happened to me.
