how to set the choke part of the crash cymbal

I'm having trouble getting the choke to work. All I've manged to do so far is make it choke as soon as I hit the cymbal, but obviously I only want it to choke when I pinch it.
The pics show the midi notes in Addictive drums and in the megadrum manager. The cymbal is a Roland CY-8

You have to set the pad type of the head to dual or 3way Yamaha and to switch for the rim. You have it set to single piezo.

Still no success from this. Any more ideas ? I managed to get it so that hitting the edge cut it off, but obviously I need to make it so that when I pinch the edge I get the cut off.

Set the rim/edge note number to 77. Addictive Drums only has single zone + choke articulations for crash cymbals, so currently, when you're hitting the edge you're just activating the choke, not the crash note. To get 2 zones out of it you have to set the bow/head note number to another articulation (I set it to a ride bow note).

I've still got the same problem. The cymbal crashes, no problem, but the choke does nothing. In addictive drums the note value for the choke is 78, but when I squeeze the edge of the cymbal nothing appears in the midi log, so addictive drums won't do anything.

First, for the rim, start with threshold at 0 and raise it 1 by 1 while squeezing the edge switch until the midi light starts flashing. Leave it at a value where the light flashes twice every time you squeeze and release the switch. Then set highlevels properly for both zones and untick the autohighlevel box. When you squeeze the switch, it should send aftertouch messages for that cymbal, there shouldn't be the need to set any notes for the choke.

Still no joy. The midi light never comes on when I squeeze the cymbal. ( The cymbal chokes fine with the same cable connected to the TD-6 drum module )

You have the head set to 3way Roland. Set it to dual or 3way Yamaha.
