Is Megadrum MIDI latency less than other modules?

Hello! Im new here...

I want to perform live electronic music using an E Drumset and Ableton live , sending the drum samples through FX , EQs, etc... So Having said that , here is the question : I want the less possible MIDI latency and I have heared that the Megadrum has Just what I want. Could that be true? Or there is another solution?

Also , another possiblity is to send my Audio signals instead of midi to Ableton. But Im not sure if it will be faster that way.

Thanks!

It's as fast, if not faster than anything else on the market. Latency tends to come from the audio side. EQ and such will add as well.

Also another question... I´ve seen that the modules can be built with many inputs but what about the outputs? can it be built with a good amount of them?

The module only outputs MIDI. You can assign a different MIDI channel to each individual pad though, but it will all still go out through the same single MIDI output port (USB or DIN).

last question...

Has the midi Jitter been measured? is it as low as the latency?

Just been curious.

Thanks!

As airflamesred already mentioned, MegaDrum's own MIDI latency is negligible compared to sound synth latency. See my measurements for older MegaDrum version in viewtopic.php?f=3&t=2079
There of course will be some MIDI jitter but it will be even less then MIDI latency.
