No trigger signal at crash input

Hi,

I 've currently ran int a strange problem.

To play a crash cymbal I build a quick and dirty DIY cymbal made from a thick plastic dish, rubber and a 35mm piezo until i receive the cymbal i ordered.

This worked fine for a few weeks, but yesterday the plastic broke a bit and the soldering of the piezo was torn off.
Now no trigger works on the crash Input. I just get events 2 times a seconds with velocity depending on the threshold/gain. Regardless if or what I plug in.

For now I plugged my cymbal into Aux1 - which works fine for now...

Any idea what could by wrong with the MD ?

best Tim

It doesn't work even if you start with a default config?

Gave that a try (Restart with right button pressed). Behavior stays the same. It triggers every 24ms. No Change of MIDI if I hit the cymbal. Velocity changes when I modify gain or threshold.

But cymbal works in AUX1

Sorry, I'm confused. You first said "Now no trigger works on the crash Input" but now you say "Behavior stays the same. It triggers every 24ms". What is actually happening?

Sorry. It makes absolutly no difference what I plug into the crash input - or if i plug nothing into it.
The behaviour is allways identical. Megadrum triggers the crash note every 24ms.

When i plug the crash cymbal into AUX1 it works. It i plug the HitHat or the Ride into the input - as I've written above - no change of behaviour.

So when you start MegaDrum with a default config with nothing plugged into the module, this input triggers every 24ms?

Yes. Correct.
I attached a screenshot - done after restart while pressing the right button,

Well, in this case something happened to this input. Maybe when the piezo broke it generated a very high voltage spike which damaged the input. Please PM me for repair.

Hi there,

just to confirm what Dmitri told - and in case someone here is using DIY triggers like me. I am now pretty sure that the piezo bricked my input.
Why ? Now my AUX1 is bricked aswell. Rest is still working.

I had a deeper look onto the piezo and saw that the caramic material was damaged in one Point and further more it wasn't probably the best idea to tape that thing directly onto a platic plate. Must have been a bit to hot.

So...guys be careful. I'll be next time.
