LCD Screen compatibility with Atmega1284

Postby Narbicus » Sat Jun 16, 2018 6:58 pm

Hi,

Was wondering if my Atmega1294 based megadrum could be upgraded with a LCD screen? Or is this feature only available with the newer ARM based boards? Sorry if this has been asked before, i tried several searches and couldn't find the answer.

Cheers

In short: it can't. The Lite kit can't use it either, only the 'higher end' ARM-based kit and modules.
If it ain't broken... fix it until it is.

Hi...You are saying there are display glasses with 4 digits of 7 segments.. I aqree. However it is not possible to display all characters with a 7 segment display.
You need more segments per character, for example the lcd on stk 502 has much more than 7 segments per digit.
