About MD's settings

With my MD nearing its completion, and after a few uses, I'd like to learn a little about its configuration. I have read the pdf in the home page that explains the meaning of each parameter, but I don't understand what does the most of those DO. Any further reading or explanations about them?
I have found that I reach the top velocity (127) with easy in my pads, making the overall play experience a little weird and unnatural. Should I lower the gain? Thats why I want to know a little more about settings.

Thanks

In my home made meshhead pads I have to set gain to 0 and high level to maximum to have a good velocity range

What does high level do?
I understand that gain is the sensitivity, right?
Help me understand :)

I can confirm that lowering the gain has made the velocities much more natural and responsive :D

As dmitri explained me once, raising Gain lowers the maximum voltage reference.

Gain=0 => hits from 0 Volts to 5 V are divided in 1023 different values. You can set gain=0 and highLevel to 800 if your pads can onlye reach 4 V.

Gain=4 > hits from 0 Volts to 4 V (don't know the exact relationship between gain and maximum reference voltage) then your pads can reach 1023 (highlevel)

With gain you control the reference (maximum) voltage, and with highlevel how strong are the hits

You can try to set gain to different values and (with autolevel=on) see how big the HighLevel gets when hitting the pad strongly
