6" Dauz pad from 90's not registering hits

I have two 6 inch Dauz pads from my old D4 based setup I used in the 90's. I wanted to use them as cymbal triggers until I build DIY ones. The first one I plugged in didn't register so I thought perhaps it was a broken one but then I found a second one I had put in a box and I know it worked before. It also doesn't send hits so perhaps I have to reverse polarity or make some other adjustment for them to trigger hits?
Thanks,

If its single zone then the polarity shouldn't matter.

What steps are recommended for me to troubleshoot my two Dauz 6" pads from the 90's that aren't triggering? I have a multimeter.
Thanks,

I don't think you can troubleshoot a piezo with a multimeter.

I've replaced the Dauz pads with Pintech practice cymbals with a prewired 35mm piezo I bought on Amazon from Goedrum affixed underneath. They work really well for single zone crash and splash
