What are my options for adding a second hi-hat with controller?

I guess you can physically wire a duplicate but if you are looking for two independent hats then a second MD will be needed.
Is this just climbing Everest because it's there or have you some effect in mind?
Tying all four limbs up seems a bit excessive.

My limbs are very conflicted. I write and eat left handed and I play sports right handed/footed. When it comes to drums it feels natural playing left handed with my hands but my feet are stronger playing right footed. So I’ve decided to embrace open handed drumming and try to get equally good from both sides. I suspect eventually I’ll have a symmetrical setup ala Mangini. So to answer your question, it is kind of all things, and Everest challenge, possible effects I can get out of it and just having fun.
