Sustain pedal for mallet controller

Hi!

I am curious if there's a simple "hardware" solution for using a simple sustain pedal, in one of the hi-hat inputs, to pause all NoteOff events? I have one of these https://www.thomann.de/se/lead_foot_lfd10.htm but am open to getting other alternatives that might work, provided they're not overly expensive. It's intended for my mallet controller that I'm using my MD56 for.

Thankful for any pointers (I did search the forum but didn't find any explicit answers)!

What's the intended sound source?

Sorry for the slow reply. I'm currently inputting MIDI to my MPC1000, but that might vary to being synths etc. I'm guessing there's no general "no NoteOff until x" in MD?

There is no built-in way in MegaDrum to delay Note Off with a pedal but I guess it should be possible on a PC with some MIDI filtering.

I use Bome MIDI Translator.

I'm sure the delay function on that will work on note offs for your desired set of milliseconds

Bumping this to hear if there are other people with working solutions for a mallet type device.

I've yet to set up something that will allow me to musically use a pedal for "sustain" (pressed down for open/ringing) and unpressed for "normal" playing. The thing is, my samples on the MPC1000 are all "sustained", so I'm quite unsure of how to proceed.
Any pointers to examples of people doing similar things with a good pedal solution?
