Case for Megadrum?

Hi,
would there be any intrest in if i would drawup a Case for Megadrum? All holes, labels etc would be pre-drilled so you could easily just put in your display, knobs, pcb's and connectors. This would require Synthex v2.8 pcb and and input pcb's.

We could put in our ideas on this thread and when everything is ok i would get a pricing for this. I would aim at to get as cheap as possible.

Please comment.

Thanks,

Kari

Rackmount style with the 32 inputs? Or are you talking something else? It's an interesting idea :) I'm sure some would love the option.

I was thinking of a 1/2 19" rack width. 32 Inputs for sure. But i'm pretty sure that 1U height will not do it. Depends on the Input boards and TRS connectors.

I'll start to make some drawings and post it here.

Thanks,

Kari

True, but what if you stuff 2 Megadrums in a 19" 1U rack case? ;) Pure overkill.

Anyhow, as it seems i have either bad soldering and/or wiring problems with my current Megadrum and did not find where the problem is, i've decided to draw a pcb with everything on one pcb. Yes including the TRS connectors, printerport, serialport and a pot at each input so those with hot pads can easily adjust these with a voltage divider. So far i have been thinking of using small pots that goes directly on the pcb, and has to be adjusted with the case open, alternative would be to have small holes next to the TRS connectors (on the case) so it would be easy to adjust with a small screwdriver or have the holes on the top. I've done a few PCB projects a couple of years back, and this was mainly hifi related stuff.

After the pcb is completed the case can be designed.

Stay tuned!
