Anyone willing to etch a PCB for me?

Postby daddy4life85 » Sat Feb 21, 2009 7:27 am

I'm just curious if someone would be willing to etch and drill out a set of the input PCB's for the V2.8 megadrum for me? I just don't have time lately I was going to do it and even have PCB material but it's getting hard enough to find time to just work on my drum kit period :) Kids, school and work tend to take a lot of spare time lol. Anyways I'd understand a cost would be involved just figured I'd see if anyone would be up to it.

I've got a set that are already etched, just not drilled yet. I can post up a pic if you are interested. That was one of the hardest pcb's I've done yet. I guess it was due to the size. I will trade you for your unused PCB, and you pay shipping if you are interested. Let me know. Also where are you? USA? I don't know what shipping is anywhere else.

Yeah I'm in the states. That would be cool, I don't really have a way to drill out the holes currently. My friend and I were looking to get a drill press but he's in China for a month or longer now lol. I don't think do them with a hand drill is a good idea. But I could send you a few sheets of PCB material in exchange :) The PCB material I have is blue and double sided. I got it a while back as I was going to etch some amp PCB's.

I don't mind drilling it out, I just don't have any of the jacks to get the hole size off of. If you can get me that size I will drill it out. I will post a pic of the pcb either this afternoon or tomorrow. I'm getting ready to go to a college B-Ball game here in a short while so I will probably not have time today.

Ok, I don't have any of the jacks but let me look for some online I suppose and see if it lists hole sizes. Thanks!

These are probably what I'll use. I think there is a spot for USB and MIDI isn't there? I need to find connectors for those...also the PCB mount IDE connectors haha. I imagine the pins are about the same for all of them. If they happen to be a little off I can probably drill them out a little bit.

Yeah. The IDE will just be standard size. The only sizes I need, I believe, are the input jacks and the two big connectors on the USB.

The 2 big connectors on the USB are like 1/8" I believe. They are just for holding it down. I can't seem to find any info on the hole size requirements for the TRS jacks.

Probably if I go with the size of the hole that Synthex has drawn for the pcb it will be ok.
