Help Needed

Postby ayd01 » Fri Mar 13, 2009 12:20 pm

Hi Everyone
I made a Synthex Allinone 2.8
soldered everything together it was working good I conected a piezo to test MD to 1 and 5 in the 40 pin connector and in my sequencer I heard the kick drum. Velocity everything work fine I controlled other pins and they worked fine to. So I start to make Inputs pcb. I made everything and wanted to conect them alltogether. But when I controlled Md before connecting to Inputs PCB ıt acts stange the led is always on and the lcd has nothing just blinking fast
Any Idea did I made something wrong???

ps: my mac still sees MD through USB and in MDCOnftool Hihat indicator is 127

Check for loose connections somewhere, e.g. MCU's not properly seated in, LCD cable loose.
You could have shorted something on the board.
Check for +5V on power rails/pins.

I'm having the same exact problem after trying to update the firmware to the latest version.

Input PCB is not connected? Is anything connected on the inputs?
Power up with the key RIGHT pressed. Is the MIDI LED still on?

I think you have two separate issues.
1. I suspect that since you don't have a HH pedal connected, and if you didn't change 'AutoLevels' for the HH pedal before, MegaDrum reads small voltage fluctuations on the pedal input and as a result sends CC4 MIDI messages all the time. Power MegaDrum up with the key RIGHT pressed to force MegaDrum to load default settings. Either connect a pedal to the HH pedal input or just a simple switch to simulate a switch type HH pedal and press it a few times. With 'AutoLevels' set to 'Yes', it should update High and Low levels for the pedal automatically.
2. Your LCD connection seems not ok.
What exactly do you see on the LCD?
If you can see anything on the LCD, try to press keys UP and then DOWN (for a few seconds each time) after you powered MegaDrum up without touching any other keys and see if you notice that contrast of whatever symbols you see on the LCD changes.
