Error sending sysex file to megadrum

Postby NovaKaine » Thu Apr 16, 2009 5:12 am

Finally I have everything setup on my test bed.
But I can't seem to update the firmware.
Windows Vista has detected the megadrum with no problem.
Native Instruments Battery 3 also detects it and see it as a midi device.
I even hooked up a drum pad I made to it and that works great.
Yet I can't update the firmware or do I even need too?
Also I can't seem to access the megadrum menu either.
As usual I'm stumped.

On by the way it's 2.8 version board from Synthex and a 16mhz crystal.

I hate to repeat it but you really need to read this: http://www.megadrum.info/forums/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=352
E.g.:
How can I know what you did to update the firmware?
How can I know what you mean by 'I can't seem to access the megadrum menu'?

It came with the latest firmware... so no, not really
Also I can't seem to access the megadrum menu either.
As usual I'm stumped.

Is that the MCT menu on the PC or the LCD menu on the module?
If it's MCT then read this thread, post 6-7 and close Native before entering MCT.

It's the LCD menu I can't seem to access otherwise it's working perfectly.
I think I may have a button issue perhaps the wrong type of buttons for the keyboard.
They seem unresponsive.
But as I said earlier the megadrum seems to work perfectly.
Here are a few pics from my testbed. :D

Have you read this:"Having LCD problems?Read this first before asking questions."
Do you see the welcome screen on the LCD starting up? or nothing at all.

Nice testbed... looks like your kids are a board game short now ;)

Yes the welcome screen comes on perfectly.
The Megadrum show as the Megadrum in Vista, and all my other program detect it just fine.

Sounds like a keyboard problem. Can you describe the buttons and how you wired them, using Synthex diagram and this thread as a reference?
