Hi all my megadrum seem to stuck in its update mode.
No welcome screen when I boot up just a blank screen the lcd powers up fine no msg though.
Only the right key and bottom key is responsive as to send sysex file.
Which of course it won't except.
Had it working just fine earlier even had it setup it Battery 3 all the triggers were working ok.
I just had to try to update just one more time then nothing.
So I guess how do I restore it to the original firmware if this is the problem?

You can try this :
http://www.megadrum.info/forums/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=622

Follow instructions from "Once you have the bootloader programmed follow this procedure: "

Well that did'nt help at all.
LCD screen just says send sysex now and my led is just constant blue glow.
It will not except any kind of update erasing or anything.
It's not excepting any kind of data at all.

I had the same problem restoring the firmware. It was solved by restarting MIDI-OX, so you could try to reboot MD and then start up MIDI-OX.

That doesn't seem to work either.
Last night I managed to get the Atmega32 to erase and then I used ponyprog to reload the firmware.
But when I check the firmware version in the config tool it states I have firmware version 20090211.
Which according to ponyprog it should be the latest version.
Problems:
1. Can't boot up with the left key, for some strange reason I can use the right key to do it.
Which goes straight to the update menu.
2. The Up and Down buttons now provide the same function - Send sysex now message.
3. Left Button does nothing at all now, although yesterday morning all buttons operated properly.
4. When I boot up the megadrum all I have is blank blue screen on the LCD.
5. Megadrum will just not except an update from the config tool or midiox, although each of the programs claims to have sent the sysex file.
6. The Atmega does not want update itself it seems stuck on the FW Update screen asking me to send update now.
Nothing happens
7. Help!

Disregard/ignore what MCT says about firmware update - firmware update in MCT is broken at the moment.
First, sort out your keyboard - it doesn't work properly.
What file exactly did you write with Ponyprog? Btw, Ponyprog cannot report what version of firmware is loaded into MegaDrum.

Since you know how to use Ponyprog I suggest you to start from scratch - http://www.megadrum.info/content/progra ... bootloader
Log every step of what you did and report it here.
Once you've programmed the bootloader proceed to http://www.megadrum.info/content/progra ... m_firmware
Again, log every single step you did and all little details and report it here.

Okay I will try this, btw I meant the config tool was describing the firmware version "20090211" for the atmega.
I don't know why the keyboard screwed up it functioned correctly before, But I will redo it again.
Thanks again.

Thanks a Million Dmitri finally got it updated to the lastest firmware version.
I rewired the keyboard and replaced one of the buttons
I came across this file F07F41F7 midiox sysex in the forum and used it to erase the Atmega32.
I followed Jeffbeckib thread.
Set the output buffers to 60000.
Set a long delay of a 100ms.
Loaded megadrum32_16_32_200990306.syx.
All is well now it's working again.
Thanks again Big D :D

Hi i am having the exact same problem as you have had, i am getting no response to the upload firmware from MIDIOX and so i cannot use my Megadrum :( how exactly did you get it to upload again? Did you use ponyprog or did you use MIDIOX. You said you set a long delay of 1000ms how is this done?

If you could help that would be great becasue it is part of my uni project. Thanks.
