Megadrum as input-extension for TD-12??

Postby Cysign » Sun May 31, 2009 1:15 am

Hi,

i currently bought a Roland TD-12. But I need more Inputs.
I jast was thinking of buying a Alesis Trigger I/0...but now I'd like to know how difficult it is to build my own MegaDrum with Midi-Out and USB-Out, fully compatible to computer AND td-12.

Is there anybody who could halp me with problems? Is there anybody who build his own MD and who speaks German?

I'm no electrician...but I'd like to build my own MegaDrum.

How expensive would it be all together (exapt the case...) ?

Best Regards,
Cysign

It's not difficult to build it if you're not completely inept with a soldering iron.

Message me privately or start a thread in the "other languages" section of the forum, and we can switch to German.

You will have to provide your own 1/4" jacks and the enclosure. Other than that I think Synthex's kit is pretty complete.

what about the powersupply? I'd like to use it as stand-alone trigger-to-usb and as midi-extension für my TD-12, then I need a 5V adaptor? or does only work one powerconnection?

You're only going need a power supply if you don't connect the USB port.

If you use my kit, a 5V regulator in included on PCB.
When you don't use the USB, you can use a power supply from 7V to 12V.
