hello, i'm new to DIY drumming

well the point is that, i have advanced principles of electronic (studying)

but i have a question concerning the TRS connectors...

well i have investigates a little and i know how this things works.. more or less...

my first question comes

when people say Tip= hot, Ring = cold , Sleeve = shield , what does that mean?

shield should be ground, hot and cold comes from polarity?
and how is this presented in megadrum?

i mean... when i'm connecting the jack inputs to the 32 input bus. wich pin goes with wich part of the TRS?
i'm ussing Synthex pack, i have read his pdf concerning the pins, but it's not totally clear for me if i have to connect Tip or Ring to the pins, with the exception of the Sleeve that goes to ground, that's very clear, but when let's say pin 5= Kick
that goes to ring or tip?

well that's about it.. thx for the help

counting on your advice, can't really do anithing without that piece of info xD
thx

The tip is always the main channel, the ring is secondary. For example, for the kick, that is a mono input, you should connect only tip and sleeve. For any stereo input, connect the tip to the bow/head half-input of the stereo pad, and the ring to the edge/rim half-input of that pad.
