Is there any reason why the IDE cable could not be applied in reverse? I mean so that the Megadrum plugs into the end where the two plugs are closest and the v1.8 inputs jacks plug into the other two? That way I would have plenty of ribbon cable and I could install the jacks boards end to end in a rack mount case.

Nevermind, I went ahead and tried it. It works just fine. That will help with the rack mount case I want to use since you can't stack the input jack boards.
