Status LED wiring?

I am finally getting around to putting my MD into an enclosure. I wired an on/off switch on the red line of the USB input between the v1.8 input board and the v2.5 MD. I also wanted a status light so I wired an led from the ground of the USB to the red power line of the v1.8 input board. The MD turns on and off just fine with the switch, but the status light stays lit continuously. I don't understand why since I am breaking the red power line before it gets to the LED.

Any thoughts?

Never mind, I am an idiot. I should have put it on the MD side of the switch instead of the inputs side. I guess I shouldn't work on these types of things when I am tired.

EDIT: I was right. I just changed it and it works fine now.
