Any ideas on the MIDI timing bug? Seems weird... I'll pick up a MIDI cable tomorrow and see what happens if I use it the device through my interface's MIDI ports instead of USB...

Would something like this - http://www.naiant.com/studiostore/cleverdevices.html - work for knocking down the voltage? A bit expensive, but maybe I can find some cheaper...

I like FoF because the mods make it look exactly like Rock Band, and you can play all the multi-tracked songs from the game... if I can ever get this thing working, I plan on learning how to play the drums by setting up EZDrummer and playing along with the songs :)

MIDI speed must be set to 31250 both for USB and standard MIDI. 38400 is there for a historical reason for people who long ago built MegaDrum with a Serial-over-USB MIDI In/Out.

Ah, that makes sense...

Anyways, my PSU died, so no computer for a few days while I wait for the mailman to bring me a new one... I swear I have the worst luck with electronics...

Don't give up. There are rewards to be had once you figure things out.

I think Hart users are unfortunately the minority of commercial pad owners that will have such a problem as I think everyone using Roland, Yamaha and Pintech stuff on the forum don't have the same problem. I don't really understand it because the TD-3 I used to use (MegaDrum is waaaay better) didn't have this initial problem of my pads being too hot... and since Roland pads generally aren't too hot for MegaDrum, I wonder how Hart stuff is too hot for for a stock MegaDrum but not with the TD-3 (Or other Roland modules for that matter)?

I'm speculating here but it could be because Roland modules' input impedance is lower than MegaDrum's input impedance.

Is it possible to physically change that impedance in the synthex kit without having to change something in the firmware? For me it becomes quite interesting to make the input impedance similar to Roland modules. That way no modification to pads would be needed to make them colder. Does any of what I said makes sense?

Just put a low impedance resistor between the input and the ground. How low? I don't know, you need to experiment with different pads/makes. In this respect Yamaha pads/cymbals are very well thought through - they have a trim pot built in.
