Hi dmitri:
Thank you for your reply. I have spent most of the night trying to get back to where I started. I probably purchased one of your first new 56 channel boards in June-09. It has taken me quite sometime to finish the wood case of my "Zendrum" device and it turned out beautifully. I installed the board with the original firmware loaded program and it appeared to work sending midi out and the buttons & display all worked. I went to use MCT to upgrade the firmware and this is where the problem started. I have just now tried to use Midi-OX and have the same issues. If I choose bootloader V3: Clock & Secure and try to download the new firmware the process starts to transfer. The MD display shows "FW Updater 20 MHZ ERASED" and goes no further. When I turn on and off the MD all I get is a blank blue display. There appears to be no program running in the MD. If I hold down the "Right" button and turn on the MD in hopes of reverting back to the primary program nothing happens just blank blue display. My Hardware setup is the following: Windows XP
Inputs 56
Atmega644
20MHz
V3: clock & Secure
By the way I have loaded MCT on another Windows XP machine with no midi attached just using USB Audio Device and have gotten the exact same effect "FW Updater 20 MHZ ERASED" and no real program loaded. I am really at a lose as to what to try next. My MD hardware did work with the original program and now I have only a blue display. Also MCT often says it has downloaded the program when it really has not. There appears not to be an easy way to tell if MCT is really connected to the MD board and communication properly. When I have tried to use the bootloader V4: Clock & Secure & Midi where it asks you to push the "left" button to confirm the correct clock speed and move the prompt to "Proceed" nothing happens so I am assuming the MCT and MD are NOT communicating. Any help would be fantastic.
Best,
Hoyt
Hi, I am very sorry. I just got the board to kinda connect to the software by changing the Midi In & Out in the Megadrum Config to USB Audio Device. The board appeared to talk to the software. It did connect and send a firmware update. I got this message on the LCD display--"FW Updater 20MHz ERASED" . It did just that --It erased the program and all I get now is a blue screen. It apparently did not finish the firmware update nor did it reboot the board. When I have tried to go back to the original program by holding down the "Right" button while turning on the power nothing happens. I now have a blue screen. Any attempts to upgrade the firmware to any sort of program proves futile. Any thoughts? I am using Windows XP and your 56 channel Megadrum board.
Best,
Hoyt
Hi:
I am soooo close to having everything finally working on my drum system. I have built a "Zendrum" type instrument from wood that has turned out beautifully. Everything on the board appears to work except I can not get Magadrum Config tool to speak to the board. I have midi working, all the buttons and display function and I am able with the buttons to put the Megadrum in the condition to except the SysEx but it never receives the updates. I have the 56 channel board and I have tried all the combinations of Hardware settings in the Megadrum Config tool. Here is the message I always get when I try and send anything to the board.
22:31:46 INFO: Opening MIDI port to send firmware...
22:31:46 ERROR: Trying to send BIG SYSEX message The error was: class jmidi.MidiPortException MIDI error return code:
4 22:31:46 ERROR: Updating firmware
I know I must be doing something wrong or there is something missing in my setup with Megadrum Config tool. Any help would be most appreciated.

Hi Hoyt,
Could you put a new topic in "Related Software" ?
Did you use MIDI-OX to update the firmware ?
