I see. Rubis, thank you for clearing that up for me.
I am sort of working on a related project, and that
is, using a RockBand 2 drum kit on a PC, as a midi controller.
Here is some information that some of you may find interesting.
I have tried both RB2 for PS3 and for the Wii; and both
have identical game button mappings. However, both also
do NOT give any velocity information.
I have discussed this with one programmer who
believes that there is probably some handshaking between
the RB2 drum controllers and their respective PS3 or Wii consoles
that turns on the velocity sensitivity function(which is conveyed
by joystick position).
If anyone here, knows of some PC applet (or can write one) that can "turn on" the velocity function of the RB2 drums for PS3, it would be greatly appreciated.
That said, the RB2 for Xbox 360 actually sends the velocity information to the PC (as joystick position). I have ordered a Gaming Receiver for Windows, and will see for myself.
It's rather ironic (or diabolical) that MS will not let you easily use your own controller for it's Xbox 360 consoles, but is the ONLY version of the RB2 series that will actually send velocity information to the PC (unless, of course, someone here knows a hack to activate
the PS3 and Wii versions).
Thanks for any assistance.
