Well I gave up on the serial port-I don't think winpic likes any ports above #4. The damn serial PCI card cost $50, so I am returning it, and I just ordered a PicKit2 for $35...

Just wanted to say I got the PicKit and got the PICs programmed in about 2 minutes. It was short, sweet, and painless!!!

I've try many days to find an issue with a modded serial programmer.... finaly, I've ordered a PicKit too .... and programming was not done in 2 minutes ......... but in 30sec
