Monotoms detected as rims.

Postby reddrum » Mon Dec 12, 2011 12:34 pm

Hello forum,
I have a problem with my megadrum: I can't set the threshold below 25.
Everytime I do and I hit a tom, or a cymbal, the megadrum detects the hit on the tom, or the cymbal
AND it detects a hit on my tom1, tom2, tom3 and somtimes also on my crash.
So if i hit for example my hihat, I hear the sound of my hihat and of my tom1, tom2, tom3 and crash.
I saw in the Midi Log that if i hit my tom1, tom2, tom3, or crash, it gets detected as a rim hit and
I was wondering if thats the reason why I always hear the sound of my toms and crash?

I have only mono toms, the crash can be chocked, megadrum has the latest firmware.
I hope someone can help me, because its really not playable with a thresholf of 25.

I presume Gain levels are at defaults.

Possible causes:
1. Mechanical crosstalk.
2. Electromagnetic crosstalk.

Possible solutions:
1. Isolate pads/cymbals mechanically as good as possible.
2. Make sure cables are good screened cables.
3. Disable not used inputs setting MNote to 0.
4. Place the effected pads/cymbals into the same XTalk group and raise XTalk level on effected inputs.

To disable all not used inputs by setting MNote to 0 solved the problem.
Thanks dmitri
