Anyone use BFD2 with the megadrum?

Postby daddy4life85 » Mon Mar 09, 2009 2:36 am

I got this because I had heard it was a good bit better then Superior 2.0. It also works a great deal differently... I'm a bit confused as to how to get it working with everything. It seems that I can assign the drums to different notes in BFD2 where as with Superior they were set and I had to adjust the megadrum to make it work. Also when I started the program for the first time it asked me which e-drum module I'm using and there wasn't like a custom one so I put in Alessis I/O so not sure if that's going to screw anything up? I'm a newb to VST so trying to figure it out.

I use BFD1.5 and you can either set BFD to the MegaDrum notes or set MegaDrum to the default BFD notes, it doesn't matter. As said, just make sure you save your maps in both BFD and MegaDrum!

Yeah for some reason when I set the Hi-hat to variable BFD2 crashes and I started to get very frustrated having to keep redoing everything. I ended up just not setting it to variable. When I build my optical Hi-hat controller I'll have to tinker with it some more. One thing I don't like about BFD2 that I like about Superior 2.0 is that Superior has kits with 5 toms stock while with BFD2 you only get like 3 tom kits. I'm a newb to this stuff and not really sure how to tune them to be different sounds and regardless would prefer not to do that. I suppose I'll have to look into some of the expansions.
