1. Set Bow->DualHead to Yes.
2. Set Edge->Type to Switch.
3. Disable 3rd zone, i.e set BNote to 0.
4. Set Edge Threshold to 0.
While monitoring with MIDI-OX, press and hold the edge switch. Raise Edge Threshold one step at a time while still keeping the edge switch pressed. Do you ever see "Aftertouch On" message? At what Threshold?
What is your firmware version?

I have set everything as you mentionned and I get this...
monitor1.JPG

I found out that Threshold "9" triggers the fist two values you can see on the printscreen (which is a Aftertouch "127" value for both my edge and bow)
Going higher than Threshold "9" does nothing
But if I go back to "8" I get the two other messages you can see on the printscreen (which is a Aftertouch "0" value for edge and bow)
Going below Threshold "8" does nothing either

The weird thing is... I dont have to press or release the switch to get these aftertouch messages! Just changing the threshold on the megadrum does that.
As if one of my switch was constantly closed?!? But this cant be.. I checked with my multimeter, I clearly have 10k on my edge, and 0 on my bell while pressing my switches, otherwise there's nothing coming out of there!

By he way I currently have the 2009-08-25 firmware installed

Looks like you might have a short on the input itself. Check the resistance when it is connected to MegaDrum (don't forget it must be powered off).

Looks like you were right! I'm using another input on my MD and now pressing/releasing the switches does send aftertouch messages (see printscreen attached). I still didnt manage to get 3 seperate zones though...
Bow hit works fine (sends one normal Note-On/Note-off value that I can easily handle). But edge and bell are giving me a hard time!!

Bell (3rd zone) Threshold must always be lower than Edge(Rim) Threshold because it is the bell switch which shorts it to the ground whereas the edge switch shorts it to the ground over a 10k resistor.

Thanks a lot for you advises Dmitri!
After playing arround with my settings I can now consider my cymbal as 100% functional!
All three zones are independant and playing with this cymbal in BFD2 is now fun (instead of painfull). I might still have to do couple of adjustments depending of how hard or soft I want to play (the plastic mat I'm using for the switch requires me to use a certain strenght, especially on the edge), but overall it feels and sounds like a good accoustic cymbal!
To close this topic, here's my current setting... not very similar to the other people's here who shared their 3-zone cymbal settings, but in my case, this is the best I can use :

That's weird.. I have the same problem with the same type of switch you did..

I have a 2 zone piezo/switch.. and I have the key aftertouch without the switch closed when I put the threshold to 7 or 8..

I pluged my switch on my multimeter, and even plugged a led (it light up when I press the switch).. so my switch seems to work fine...

The only thing I see is that I have some resistance in the switch when it's closed (maybe because it's made from aluminium), around 200 ohm, but I don't know if it change anything at all..

Finally I do get the aftertouch in my 2 zone.. but I dont know how to make it choke in bfd2 lol... I do get 2 notes (c#3 and c#5), but when I press the switch for the choke, I get "Chan pressure" in the bfd2 log..

And my 3-zones ride, can't get 3 zones.. only 2 zones when I use the "yes" option.. 1 zone when "3-way"

I suspect that your settings are incorrect for your 3-way cymbal.

In BFD2 make sure you map your cymbal's MIDI note number to a CYMBAL slot AND NOTHING ELSE, otherwise you wont be able to use the Choke feature. Then you have to check "Choke with aftertouch" in the BFD2 MIDI Preferencess window

Could you show a printscreen of your settings?
