I'm running it on an Acer laptop:

Windows vista (32 bits)
Core 2 Duo T5550 (1.8ghz)
2gb DDR2
250gb HDD 5200 rpm
Standard onboard realtek HD audio

Running flawlessly with the ASIO drivers installed and option checked in BFD2

I think they are 900 Mhz Celeron, 512MB RAM
Possible upgrade to 2GB RAM

Is this likely to be sufficient? It would be for dedicated use I could easily NLite it.

nLite and RAM's aside I think it's going to be a "thad bit" slowish

Seriously, check out the SD and BFD min. requirements + Windows + possible host and see for your self.

Just my 2 cents ...

OK thanks, I did see the quoted minimum specs but thought I would see if anyone had first hand experience. Sounds like there's not much chance.

*** I have edited the title since in the end this is really about hardware improvement...

Just wanted to say that I bought a 500G internal HDD (7200 rpm, 16Mo), installed Windows 7 RC, used Tuneup (that is not even SUPPOSED to work with Windows 7, but it does), and now I have 3 partitions including one dedicated to my BFD2 library and guess what.....?
BFD2 works perfectly!!!

I have plugged all my pads (variable snare, hi-hat 2 zones + pedal, 3 toms, 3-zone cymbal, and kick), and chosen the heaviest samples and no more of these note cuts or latency! It works and it feels confortable (not getting close to my hardware's limitation anymore!!)

I did play for couple of days with Superior drummer 2, but even though there were no hardware issues, I just didn't like the sounds as much as BFD2's.

Thanks to everyone who helped me out!
:D
