sustain pedal
Posted: Fri Dec 11, 2009 11:15 pmwould the electric sustain pedal that came with my yamaha electric piano work to sustain the sounds that are triggered by my MegaDrum? Isn't there a hi-hat pedal input built in?
The HiHat pedal in MegaDrum is meant for HiHat pedals which vary output voltage depending on the pedal's position. MegaDrum then in turn sends out MIDI ControlChange messages corresponding to the registered pedal position. So:
1. You have to find out if your sustain pedal outputs variable voltage.
2. You have to check your sound sample/software if it is able to interpret MIDI ControlChange messages as sustain.
