As newbie to md & mdm could someone please explain to a novice how MDM is installed and how the options works . it seems to talk to md and midi log .but i cant get it to do anything.

So you in fact installed it, didn't you?
You configured MIDI ports?
How do you know that "it seems to talk to md"?
What doesn't work?

Have installed MDM but what are the other files listed at the bottom "apollo" etc.
yes configured options to get the log working shows yellow bars when pads struck and it also runs BFD2 through my PC
Cant seem to send info to MD when i change Pad settings etc and locks up when i try to change the port settings .Im only using the USB midi cable to PC .
is this any help

When starting MDM and than pressing "Open MIDI" what do you get in "Firmware ver:" ?

Appolo should read :
It requires additional libraries:
Apache Commons Collections
Apache Commons Configuration
Apache Commons Logging Components erc


Firmware it shows ??????????

It means it wasn't installed properly. All the libraries come in the install package. Did you install it from http://www.megadrum.info/mdm/ ?

it dosnt seem so
Ive had a look at mdm and it wont lrt me use the mdm usb option .
I have tried using the Deltamidi card installed and that dosnt appear to work either

If it didn't let you use "mdm usb option" how did you manage "to get the log working shows yellow bars when pads struck"?

Well to cut a long story short,It was all down to the Usb lead .Changed it and All works fine, But then im asking myself why was BFD2 working ?
