Just a short note that MDCommander (MegaDrum Commander) is now available for iPads in App Store. The nice thing about using iPad to control MegaDrum is that you can do it wirelessly as long as MegaDrum is connected to a Mac. I will post details later.

Nice work Dmitri!

The app looks very clean and thorough, just as we've come to expect from your work.

Awesome work Dmitri! Any chance of getting this to work wirelessly on W7?

Thank you Dimiri , nice work.

I did a quick and general test on windows 7 x64 and MDCommander working fine with Tobias Erichsen’s “rtpMIDI” driver v1.0.7 (222).

Due to my time limit, I checked only the parameters is changing or not in "live on" mod.

Provides an incredible speed use.

Thanks again .

A very nice app. I have been using a Apple Camera Connection Kit...which gives an USB port to MegaDRUM + USB External power (IPAD won't be able to provide the right power) The app seems to be very solid - and it is easy to work and update configuration on MegaDRUM. (Note: MD needs to be set to the USB/Midi speed - using faster speeds does not work with IPAD. True?)

I will also try the rptmidi and see how it works. Very interesting to see if this scenario works on a system where I have been facing problems with in MDM. (The midi connection hangs)

2012-04-26. I just played around with my ipad, rptMIDI, my w7 x64(where MDM hangs the midi connection occasionally) and my MD(latest firmware). Using MD Commander on IPad wireless to rptMIdi and my w7 system seems be very solid. If I stress the midi connection by sending the complete drum setup...and follow up this task with a following big meter command...(toggle)...i was only able to make the connection to drop once during 45 minutes of work. Very solid compared to using MDM on my systems!!!

Configuring rptMidi...was the only hard part. You need to enable the wlan router to open the port 5004 to point to the PC that runs the rptMidi. (virtual server funtion)

If properly configured...your ipad will show up in rtpmidi dialog....when MD Commander is started on your Ipad.

Very nice Dmitri!

Best Regards

Anders

Just confirming that rtpmidi works great for windows users! This development really puts megadrum FAR above the competition in my opinion!!
