Feature for disabling NoteOff Events

Hello,
I have a feature request for Megadrum. I have recently planned to use it for triggering loops, like in the SPD-S. I have the vst shortciruit (Cubase 5) to load and play my loops. But there is no function to ignore the NoteOff Events, so the sample will immediately stop. So I thought, if I hit the pad it will send just the NoteOn Event. If I hit it again, it will send an NoteOff Event. Could you implement this feature? That would be very nice!

Can vst (or Cubese) be configured to start the loop with one note and stopped by another note? In this case you can configure different Notes in Note and AltNote. If not, is the requested feature useful for anybody else?

As you point out, Dmitri, alt note would cover that. For those of us taking a more musical approach I would like to see the variable note on/off length. I'll even throw some money at it.

You mean per input Note Off delay?

Yes, for individual inputs, rather than global.

yes this is possible, but I still have the NoteOff Message, that causes to stop the sample directly. It has to be function that do not send a NoteOff Event.

Playing loops in a live situation is not a musical approach?

Of course it is. My use of the word 'us' could include you

I understand in your config
Note On A is a trigger to start a loop and
Note Off A is a trigger to stop a loop. If you change it to be
Note On A is a trigger to start a loop and
Note On B is a trigger to stop a loop why would any
Note Off trigger stopping a loop?

Because thats just a workaround, the vst does not have this function. For example, I load a sample on Note C and a dummy sample (with no content) on C#. Furthermore I set the Polyphonie to 1. In this case the Note C# will cause to stop the loop, but I have still a NoteOff Message from C that will stop the loop, too.

What length are your sequences, as a matter of interest? Even a variable, individual note off might not cover this.
