Postby jordml » Sun Apr 19, 2009 1:28 pm

I have built the sythex kit 3 with the Atmega 32 and 32 inputs but when I load the megadrum config tool and try to change threshold/ midi message etc nothing happens. I have windows vista 32 bit. Is it compatible? Please somebody help!

Hi jordml,

You first need to read this: http://www.megadrum.info/forums/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=352

I have about the same problem:
I am using a Synthex kit (version 2.8 - Atmega 32, 16Mhz, PIC 18F2550 - and I use the addition resistor), with the firmware 2010.03.13. and everything works on Win XP Professional on my friends laptop. I can send and receive data in Megadrum Config Tool.
When I connect the device to my laptop, running Win Vista 32 bit business, i can receive data from Megadrum in MCT, but cannot send any. If i send any setup usually the following happens:
- it says it transfered everything, but as i look up in Megadrum menu, nothing changed
- it says its transfering, but never finish transfer
I am using MCT version 1.83.
I can use my megadrum with BFD2 on this, beacouse its send midi to BFD2. But its annoying I cannto set prefs in Megadrum with MCT on my laptop.

For the win vista user, read the tips section of megadrum.info/configtool. It says because of win vista permissions, you may need to manually copy the library to your Java folder. For the last question. Did you install the latest JRE 1.6? did you download it with Internet explorer? (it usually adds some extra data to the file) Better to do that with firefox, chrome or another "normal" browser
