3 zone cymbal support, Yamaha style. How many of you need it

3 zone cymbals, Yamaha style. Do you want me to add support for them in MegaDrum?

I have both MegaDrum and Yamaha cymbals, please do it.

I have Yamaha cymbal. Lack of Yamaha 3 zone cymbals support is a showstopper for building MegaDrum.

I have MegaDrum. If you do it, I'll buy 3 zone cymbals Yamaha style.

I have MegaDrum. I'll live happily without support for such cymbals.

If you do it, I will rebuild all my DIY cymbals to have the Yamaha 3zone design.

I have neither of them, only 2 (3 at most) persons have MegaDrum, your poll is stupid.

I only tested two cymbals (PCY-150S) for 5 minutes, had to raise Bthreshold for my ride a little.

PERFECT!

You are a true genius, thanks :D :D :D .

Good! I'll wait for macca2004 to confirm the result and I'll release the firmware officially.

Got home today (1 day early) and downloaded new firmware to test the yamaha 3 zone seperation support.

It's works flawlessly!! ........... Well done Dmitri ... and Robbie of course!!

Managed to lose all my settings, as looks like my config wasnt compatible with the new firmware...but thats another matter .... now setting everything up again

The above drawing shows what I was planning to do (use my cymbal as half of the switches, add a 10k resistor to the edge switch etc...). But I did a mistake while feeling too confident about the wiring
I have also grounded the bell switch
I have some pretty messed up signals in Midi-Ox, but before I start to sort out all these little problems one by one, I'd like to know if grounding the bell switch might be causing the messed up signal? If so, I guess I'll have to start over!

When pressed, the bell switch grounds the ring.
When pressed, the edge switch grounds the ring over a 10k resistor

Hey,

Thought someone may be interested in this idea I had. It is designed around the Yamaha 3-zone circuit on page 2 of this thread. It fits in a 35mm piezo buzzer shell. You remove the existing piezo buzzer circuitry and replace it with this. let me know if anyone is interested in the PCB.
