Postby maddrummer » Fri Jul 31, 2009 8:12 am

Hi, everyone,
i have roland td 6 kv and i would like to know if anybody tested Megadrum with roland kd-85, pd-8, cy-6, kd-8 and hi-hat pedal fd-8, and how it works. I need this information because i need more inputs and l'd like to use my rolands pads.

Thanks

I don't have any of them but I don't see why there would be any problems with them. I remember fd-8 has been reported to work fine.

Thank you Dmitri
for your replay. I'm posting to images by Michael Beatnik for roland and alesis piezo wiring. I don't now if opposite polarity of roland head piezo is a problem.

Thanks

Either wiring should work fine.

I own a KD-8 and was having some triggering issues using double pedals, the issue was that the kick trigger was reverse polarity wired I believe causing it to output a very cold signal which was causing me to get all kinds of inconsistant velocities at lower levels. It was ok when I used a single pedal since the beater was hitting directly over the piezo. My solution, I made a little adapter that plug into the KD-8 that consists of a male and female 1/4" cord end jacks and reversed the wiring of the cable that way. Works soo much better now, very consistant triggering velocity using doubles, outputs a way hotter signal now. Don't think you'll have this issue with the KD-85 though since it is a mesh kick and probably alot more sensitive. Hope this is informative, Kurt.
PS, my CY-8,CY-5 & FD-8 work just fine as well.
