So I have made some changes to my megadrum since the addition of the daughter board (which I still haven't connected input jacks to). I had to add rotary encoders into the mix, this is what I used https://www.alliedelec.com/Search/Produ ... 220F-S0012 if anyone is looking for alternatives, they work well and it is really nice that they have switches in them as well. Here is some progress pic for anyone that is interested.

Hi kurt,

Looks great, you've done a really clean job of getting all that done! Unrelated question to all of this though: how did you mount the LCD without screws? I've been looking to the answer for this for ages and these are the first pictures to show it really.

I would like to know this as well. I am currently using zip ties because I can't find any screws small enough.

Hey guys, I used some double sided carpet tape(it's like a 1/32" thin plastic like tape) first which I cut into 1/4" wide strips, using the uncut side of the 1/4" strips I aligned it up perfectly along the inside edge of the lcd cutout all the way around, then I carefully stuck the lcd onto the back of the faceplate on top of the carpet tape which is what you see in the photo, once in place I used 5 min epoxy and a small applicator (zipty/tyrap in my case) and spread it along the inside face plate and lcd casing to ensure that it stays. I would just use a little epoxy though in case you need to replace your lcd screen in the future. Hope this makes sense. Kurt
PS-Thanks for the kind feedback!! :)

I used hot glue to secure mine. So far it works fine.

It's funny that you guys bring this up because one of my first posts here was asking the same question so hopefully this will help someone. ;)

Thanks for that Kurt, I suspected something like that but just wanted to make sure. I have some very strong double sided tape lying around here which I'm hoping to use to finish making a cymbal so I'll try that. Or I'll just bite the bullet and go for the screw option :)

No worries davem, I would use the thinnest tape possible if you go that route since it will be more visible from to lcd cutout plus it will attrack dust and what not.

Originally I just used the tape but when it got really hot out the lcd went a little cockeyed. It may work this way with some killer red tape or vhb from 3m without the glue but I don't know how thick the tapes are.
