It's still short of memory and program stack probably got overwritten. Try this one:
megadrum16_16.hex

It stays on "Megadrum.info (c) D. Skachkov - I remember reading something about the menu going haywire if there was no pedal attached. Anyhow, you should see my face right now :D

Yes, now it's behaving a bit more like it should - I get the screen with the meters, but there's this number that keeps going from 0 to 10 all the time.

Cheers!

This is how it should be on 20/22 inputs versions. Have a nice sleep now:)

Yippee!

Just received the Atmega32 (double-checked!) so this afternoon I'll try program the pic, rig the module up to a pad or two and try and give some feedback on performance with my DIY pads ;)

Hi

Some test results, comments and questions:

I somehow managed to program the PIC. I didn't really know what I was doing and Winpic kept saying there was an error... until my computer suddenly beeped and recognised Megadrum :). So I put in all IC's, hooked up a pad... and it actually worked!

My first impression is that sensitivity is incredible  , it picks up really soft hits all round the head, and strenght of hit/response is quite consistent. But I'm having problems with rolls and double-hits - I've been playing around with the configuration menu but I can't seem to get it right. I think I can't use the sysex configuration Dmitri posted somewhere else, for Megadrum 32... So could you please just tell me your snare head settings? Threshold, retrigger and all that. I know that pads vary, but if I can adjust one pad properly I imagine I'll be able to do the rest with some tweaking. Anyway, if I can just sort that out I think I can safely say this thing works very well.

Ignotus.

Thanks Dmitri

OK, things have improved quite a bit, but I still can't get an even roll, it jumps up and down a lot in intensity. On the other hand, single hits are very well registered according to strength - so the problem is when things start going fast.

Any suggestions?
