Here are my results with the settings you suggested - I think retrigger is too high at 8 for my pad, but it does vary strength more now. With double-hit rolls it seems to pick up the first hit very loud and the second very quiet; lowering retrigger improves this.

This one sounds a lot better - I lowered retrigger to 2 and brought gain up to 2. This file is a mix of hard and soft hits.

You still get too strong first few hits in free bouncing (didn't look at the rolls yet).
Can you list all your settings(no exclusions) for the pad again?

curve: linear
threshold:15
gain:2
high level:944
retrigger: 2
dual head: yes

This is the setting for the last recording, which I think sounds much better than the previous ones. With them I used exactly the settings you suggested.

Is HiLevelAuto set to No?
944 is near the maximum MegaDrum's HighLevel setting. If I got so high HighLevel I would lower Gain instead of raising it.
Do you have a spare potentiometer between 4k7 and 47k? Just to try to attenuate a signal from the piezo.

I put in a 47k pot, and this is the result.

Yes
I don't know much about this, but is my piezo delivering too much current or something?

The last 'free bouncing' recording looks much better!
I don't know why yet but your rolls don't look good. These are mine soft and medium rolls:

I didn't record the hard roll because I cannot keep the same hit strength with harder hits. Please note, in the above recording all the hit level variations are due to my weak drummer skills:)

Also, it appears your pad sends very strong signal. If all your pads are as hot as this one I would recommend you to replace 4k7 R9-R16 resistors with 3k3 or even 2k2 resistors.

Or add pot on pad output.

The pot has improved things a great deal! I've playing around with it; full open for a 47k pot (I don't have any other values) and here are some more rolls. Much better I think...See what you think. I'm no drumroll expert either!
