I need Help!

Postby Joust » Fri May 27, 2011 9:38 pm

First off,Im new here and new to MD..I just recieved my MD 32 ch module.

1-I am very familiar with roland type drum modules.I have a hart dynamics kit and im triggering Superior 2.0..But all that keeps happening is with just the snare plugged into the MD,is a continuous double snare hit when I strike the snare hard.Sounds like a flam.Ive been tooling with different parameters in MD but it doesn't seem to make and difference, none whatsoever, nothing, nada, zilch!

2- Hitting the snare also produces a crossstick sound,Most likely a crosstalk issue, but setting the crosstalk on both snare and rim even to its highest values does nothing.

3-How to use MD manager? what is and what reads a .php file? Looked around on the net but found squat....Also If it matters,Im on a PC

It is really impossible to give help when a question sounds like "I tried everything nothing works".

Did you read through http://www.megadrum.info/content/megadrum-configuration and in particular about the "DualHead" setting?

Try http://www.megadrum.info/mdm/mdm.jnlp

When you open http://www.megadrum.info/mdm/mdm.jnlp in a browser, the browser should suggest you to open it with "Java(TM) Web Start Launcher" provided you have Java installed.
If it doesn't, download http://www.megadrum.info/mdm/MegaDrumManager.signed.jar directly and run it but in this case MegaDrum Manager won't automatically upgrade to a newer version whenever I release one.

This is becoming very frustrating and a big disappointment,I cannot find anything on the page you directed me to about dual head, but I can tell you that testing all 3 settings no,yes,3 way.. makes NO difference I'm still getting a dual hit flam sound when the snare head is struck hard. And Im still getting a cross stick sound when the snare is hit ,Even with the cross talk values set high set low set in between set every possible way,the cross talk parameter simply does NOT work.

In http://www.megadrum.info/content/megadrum-configuration there is a section named "Pads settings" which points to http://www.megadrum.info/content/pads-settings
In there, among many other settings, there is a description for "PadName->DualHead for Head/Bow input or PadName->Type for Rim/Edge inputs".
Crosstalk has nothing to do with proper zone detection for dual zone pads and also, even if it is irrelevant here, for crosstalk suppression between separate pads to work correctly other settings must be set right, in particular Gain, Threshold, HighLevel and if the pads are too "hot" they must be "cooled" with a voltage divider.

A voltage what?????? What is that??? dude Im a drummer not a rocket scientist not a computer programmer,All I know is that everything works PERFECT with my roland TD8. FLAWLESS, Yea some tweaking was involved but basically it was plug and play.Thats not the case with the MD.Thats FFFFFAAAAARRRRR from the case with the MD.Maybe your module will not work with some edrums like the hart kit I have. When I used the alesis trigger IO with my kit it was an abortion.Look this is not gonna work for me its obvious, may I return this to you for a refund?

I'm not a shop, I only build modules on requests. I can replace the module if it is broken upon deliver though.

Broken? no I doubt that, besides I believe you are smart enough to test something before you send it out,So since you are not a shop I guess your answer to my refund question is no! Not fair at all,Others will read this and possibly have the same problems I do and will think twice about your business practices,With that in mind I'll ask one more time very politely, since this has not worked out for me,and since I strongly believe you will have no problem reselling this to someone who will be able to benefit from the MD,will you be kind enough to tell me where to send the module for a full refund

I believe I already answered this question. There are places on Internet to sell things you're not happy with or you don't need any more.
