I read forum, but I don't find solution ? resistor 47k on pin 26 for the 18F2550 ? This solution don't work apparently.

So, anyone have solution ?

Why do both of you check only half of the above?

I don't understand your answer. You wrote this answer on other subject :

Read it all carefully.

It is ok, your PIC is programmed.

I load the good firmware : pic18f2550usb_16MHz.HEX, date on 21/04/2011 - 21Ko.

I always had doubts about the quality of the load, but you have certified that it was ok.

So I concidère that the PIC is ok ...

ATMEGA is OK,
I recall that the first time I loaded PIC program, I had no error, unlike the next time (see viewtopic.php?f=3&t=1634)

So I concider ATMEGA is OK since it is you who charged these days.

That is why I ask errors disconnecting the USB.

Answer these:
1. Did you make sure you loaded the correct PIC firmware?
2. Did you make sure that your board's schematic matches the up-to-date schematic?

For the PIC firmware, I think i've got the good : pic18f2550usb_12MHz.hex. My pic is a 18f2550, and the cristal is a 12Mhz (I make an error on my last message, but in my question about PIC18F2550 on other subject, I explain that I would like to load pic firmware 12Mhz after loading by error a pic pic firmware 16Mhz).

But I can retry to load the same Pic firmware : 18F2550-12Mhz.

For the PCB, I take the PCB shema and PDF of syntex 2.5 (last version with all documents, shemas, PCB board, etc... on this forum)

I'm going to check again all forum, and all my PCB and Firmware.

Thanks

Does this PCB match the latest MegaDrum schematic which, btw, I gave the link to several times in this topic?

I'm going to check again all forum, and all my PCB and Firmware.

A very good alternative to checking just what I suggested to check.

It's the SYNTEX version 2.5, so, not quite the same shematic.

I just used the ICS cable. The rest is SYNTEX shematic (Input PCB 1.8), shematic button.

So it doesn't match, does it? Compare the schematics and make it match. Or read this topic with attention and in particular viewtopic.php?p=18438#p18438

i have told you already, in case it was malfunctioning i have replaced it with a brand new pic18f2550 chip bought and programmed from synthex, i have loaded it with the latest unprotected firmware and it still connects and disconnects, and i even decided to try it without firmware and it still gives me the same problem. i have checked the latest schematic and as far as i can tell the only thing i needed to change was pull a pin to ground with a 47k resistor and i have asked is there anything else that i need to change.

and all you can say is:

i refuse to follow your suggestions?

i have cleaned my board of flux and that has not helped either.

dmitri wrote:1. Your PC OS is mulfunctioning. Try another PC.

3. You have a break/short on the board or bad soldering.
4. Faulty USB cable.

i have told you i have tried another computer and the problem persists, i have tried multiple usb ports on multiple computers and nothign has changed, i have checked for breaks and shorts on the board and i have used 3 different usb cables to connect with.

the only option i can see is to give up on the usb connector, fork out for an external sound card that supports midi in, and use a midi connector. but obviously i dont want to do this, is there anything ELSE that you can suggest?

also a quick idea i just thought of, would having a midi to usb converter work? so that i plug the midi end into the megadrum and the usb into the computer. i think that bypasses the pic18f2550 and it seems like that is what is causing these issues, so by bypassing itmight work. anyways here is a link in case you dont quite know what im rambling on about:
