Question about the Buttons/Rotary Encoders

Dmitri, I went through the schematics and realized that Synthex didn't use pins 4-5 and 24-25 on the Atmega in his 2.5 pcb... I have to do some modifications to make the encoders work, don't I? Is there any conflict if I leave the 4 buttons that I already installed?

No. Just add the encoders and that's it.

No, there is no conflict with buttons. I don't know what, if any, modifications you need to make to the Syntex's board. You only have to make sure that the encoders are connected according to the latest MegaDrum schematics.

I installed the encoders and they work fine except that I can't get the push function to work... I connected only 3 of the 5 pins. I also played with Alt Encoders option, but with no result. What am I missing? The encoders have 3 pins in the front and 2 in their back. Do I have to connect the rest of the pins like this:

You didn't connect the push button pins according to the schematic. They are electrically independent from encoders.

Hi. Do you mean like this?

You used 3 pins for the encoder itself which is working fine. The 2 remaining pins are for the button. You can use a multimeter to make sure these 2 pins make/break when you press/release the button.

I tested it. You were right, the two remaining pins form the switch. Now, do I have to solder both of them to ground?

Logically, how will the button work if both of the button's pins are grounded? You connect these 2 pins in place of the 2 pins of the LEFT or the RIGHT button.
