As you can see the HiHat pedal jack is stereo, that is it requires three wires: ground, power and signal. It can be connected to either low or high impedance input. A 100k pot will work with both low and high impedance pedal inputs provided everything is wired correctly.

Now things are getting more clear!

This http://edrums.gl.tter.org/ tutorial is working with mono and I did it the exact same way. 2 wires from the poti to a mono plug and thats it.
So i guess whats missing is the power signal, whereever I should take that from... I bet I'm not the first one using a slide-pot for a hihat pedal. Do you have examples from previous hihatpedals with slide-pots somewhere?

Sorry to keep you that busy with that stupid problem :?

Omg... I just found that:

On 32 INPUTS Connector :
pin 3 = Power source for HiHat controller
pin 4 = Input for HiHat controller

and that

Is it really that simple?

You're right, you're not the first. Search the forum and you'll find.

hi,

could you post the full specs of the hihatcontr. input please?

i mean pinning (sense = tip, power = ring, gnd = schield) ?
accepted input voltage ( 0...5v) ?

im a little confused about the schematic wich was posted.

please help me...

my setup at the moment is a lin poti (10k) between power and gnd, sense is on the middle.
but th md doesn´t react in any way?

dok says f.contr. or pot the only diff. is no cc-send with pot?

regards

This is exactly how the schematic show it.

If it doesn't react in any way than it could be:
1. Mismatch between HiHat impedance switch position and AltIn setting.
2. A short or a break somewhere somewhere in your HiHat controller or cable.

In both above case when you in LowLevel or HighLevel the displayed raw level reading on the LCD won't change (or change very little) when you press/release the pedal.

If the raw level reading changes then:
3. What position Hihat impedance shitch is in?
4. What is the raw level reading when the pedal is full pressed?
5. What is the raw level reading when the pedal is half pressed?
6. What is the raw level reading when the pedal is full depressed?
7. What is the LevelsAuto setting?
8. What is the LowLevel setting?
9. What is the HihgLevel setting?

dok says f.contr. or pot the only diff. is no cc-send with pot?

Is it a question?
