Blank Atmega?

Postby zero098 » Fri Oct 14, 2011 5:48 pm

Hey everyone,
Just received my new Atmega from Dmitri, and when I swapped it with my old unencrypted bootloader version in my Synthex v2.7 board, The top row of my LCD only displays blocks.

From what I've determined, this is usaully caused by an Atemga that isn't programmed. Is there anything I'm missing? I put the old Atmega back in place to verify that everything is still working and all appears well. Could something else be wrong, or is this simply a case of a bad or unprogrammed atmega?

All Atemga's I send come from me programmed with protected bootloader and loaded with latest firmware version. 100%.

Thanks for the link. Checked voltage on pin 3, its at .9v, and pin 2 is at 5v. This is one of the older boards with a pot to control the contrast. Do I need to make modifications to the board to accommodate the new firmware? Once again, I put the old atmega in place, and the lcd functioned with no issues, so it looks like the LCD is fine. Also, if the Atmega is functioning properly, shouldn't the bootloader load up and at least light up the midi LED?

No modification needed.

Only if the LEFT button is pressed when powering up. Otherwise MegaDrum firmware must load.
If the board is fine I can only suspect that Atmega is damaged.
