OK, I am ready to build my pickit2 clone and start experimenting. I 'll keep you informed.

I just updated the first post with a new USB MIDI firmware version which supports 2 MIDI interfaces. With 2 MIDI interfaces it is possible to use one to configure MegaDrum with MegaDrumManager and another to be used by any other MIDI software.

Sorry if I am being a bit slow on this one, but is it possible to use the two MIDI/USB channels independently, or can the second channel only be used with Megadrum?

Is there a schematic available for this?

Independently from what? Both MIDI USB interfaces are equal and you can use one for MegaDrum control and another for MIDI data.

Sorry, I put my question very badly, so I went and did some more research.

In your first post on this subject you say that the software has been updated for 2 MIDI/USB channels.

However, the 14K50 only has one USB port, and the 2455 has 2 USB interfaces, but only one can be used at any time.

So I guess my question should have been, although there are potentially 2 MIDI/USB channels, I assume that only one can be used at any time, since I can't find a schematic which shows the two ports in use.

Maybe this is all explained in the MIDI/USB 'C' program, but I still have to work through that.

Of course, I may be totally misunderstanding the whole thing.

BTW, I have used your code for a single MIDI/USB output which works beautifully.

It uses one serial interface to talk to Atmega and presents two MIDI USB devices to a USB host to overcome a problem in some OSs where only one program at a time can have access to a MIDI device. I explained it in http://www.megadrum.info/forums/viewtop ... 621#p17621
