Q about your recitifier

for the ps on snare you have build a recitifier. does it transform the negative curves to positive or filter it the negative waves out?
have read on edrum forum bout filtering negative waves out to become a better triggering response:



is your recitifier working like this?
do you have tested this yet?

can you build and ship me a such recitifier (this or yours), naturaly i pay you extra money. you know i love your work, im not so good in soldering things...

I've never seen this schematic, but i'm sure for the positional sensing the correct components and schematic is this:

If you have a DIY pad you can get the positive part ( ceramic ) for tip and put it on the "tip" of stereo jack, with a positive wave form the rectifier is not required.

For the positional sensing a proper full wave precision rectifier is required. A simple diode rectifier will remove negative half waves and will not allow small signal (less than ~0.7V) to come through.

so md uses both, the positive and the negative waves? thought only the positivie are used and the negative are for nothing.

MegaDrum uses only positive half waves. The first half wave, which carries information about hit position, for the most of the brand mesh pads is negative. A full wave precision rectifier turns a negative half wave into a positive half wave and leaves a positive half wave as it is.

With the rectifier the part of "input piezo" is ceramic to ground and brass to the circuit? Or viceversa?

Sorry, not at the moment. Right now I just don't have time to make it reasonably cheap - design a make PCBs for it.
