Boot without 18f2550

Postby Maylord.war » Tue Mar 27, 2012 6:24 pm

Hi

I just finished my v2.5 board with components.

Only simple question, is possible to boot MD without the pic? I do not have at the moment but i would like to see if my pcb works.

All components and IC's are fitted, included the LCD and MUX4851

Thanks

PIC is optional so can be omitted.

I have a question, it is possible to use USB MIDI Cable (like this http://computerusb.com/index.php?main_p ... cts_id=107) instead of PIC and if we don't have MIDI port in our computer? Could it works?

I am currently using an almost identical midi usb adapter as the one you posted since I am having problems with my PIC. I can say it works well with almost no/unnoticeable lags. Go for it.

I'm doing some tests with my kit without pic.

I'm using the midi interfaced with my Focusrite audio/midi soundcard. What is the speed of the midi with an atmega644 bootloader? I tried to boot with the down key pressed but I don't get latency differences

Thanks
