Hi everson

Do you have a crosstalk on dual zone pad with your triggering sistem ( similar to cakepan) ?


If you can please make a video to show the sensivity and the separation beetween the 2 or more zone.

Good you asked that. The system I used is pretty good, but not 100% perfect.

Since I`m waiting for new cymbals*, I decided to devote some tom rims to cymbal sounds and occasionally get cymbal sounds when I hit tom heads hard. I`m pretty sure I can fix that in MD settings, but I`ll probably switch to a better head piezo mounting system ...
That way I`ll get bullet proof pad triggering!

As for video, sure, I`ll make one. As well as some new covers/solos. Stay tuned

* Triggera, the company I ordered my kick pedal trigger from, will soon be releasing a 15" ride cymbal as well as some other electronic cymbals and they`ll send me some prototypes to test them on MD

Which sampler/sound library you using in the video? Have your tryed to raise the crosstalk level up to 7 ?

I think the crosstalk suppression work in only one direction,if you hit the head and have a rim false notes you must increase the xtalk level on the Rim channel. Instead if you hit the Rim and have a Head false notes you need to raise the xtalk level on the Head channel.

Xtalk Group is another function for delete the noise/disturb from piezo but onestly i don't know how it works, it is better to wait Dmitri for more detail of this function.

If the crosstalk persist try to isolate the plastic cylinder that you used from the bottom surface

Crosstalk suppression has nothing to do with separation of head/rim zones in dual zone piezo/piezo pads. See DualMidPoint in http://www.megadrum.info/content/pads-settings
Of course, it implies that DualHead on the Head is set to Yes and Type on the Rim is set to Piezo.

XTalk suppression is for for crosstalk suppression between separate physical pads/cymbals.

MegaDrum gets all information in electrical form - be it from vibration or from electromagnetic interference - so it suppresses both.

Yes, that`s why I asked if Maylord meant changing xtalk for both head and rim.
As I said, I`m pretty sure head/rim "cross false triggering" could be fixed in MD, but I want to do it via hardware, in pads. Just because I think I have a great solution for perfect triggering.
Anyway, it performs very good even without any changes ...

BTW, the pic above is before I added 2 100k trimpots (one for head, one for rim) . I also changed the wiring (was roland style).
I'll probably remove trimpots from pads, just because I hate the wiring mess, and put 10k resistors instead (I think 10k will be enough).
